As I've certainly talked about before, I'm a proud member of the Unitarians, and I love working with teenagers. They definitely have their low points, but they also have some pretty high points too.
I busted a kid a year ago who was waaaay out of bounds. It was not pretty and there were a lot of really rough moments. But on the upside, the kid got a lot of support and help and started tracking a lot better; we work together and have managed to maintain that relationship during (most of) this time. At Spring Con this year, during bridging, we were both in tears.
I just got a thank you note telling me working with me "was one of the most positive experiences of my life."
Pardon me while I wipe another little tear away. It's not often we get to feel like we matter.
