If I do say so myself, it went off superbly well. There were a couple weak points, but overall it was very, very good. From the moment that Chelsea said, "You're allowed to clap as long and loud as you like" and everyone broke into applause - followed by people singing "We Shall Overcome" with gusto - I knew we were good. (Sometimes our church uses either American Sign Lanuage to clap, or else rubbing your hands together... we like the clapping.)
It was almost a "favorites" service - the youth did all the things they loved to do growing up, and they also specifically singled out the children, because of what they loved to do as children. That was pretty cool.
Given it was both the night after the auction, and a gorgeously sunny day, we had an exceptionally large turnout - about 30% above our average attendance. So cool.
