Jenny and Mahina came home at 3ish, so I got up and we all went off to the beach. I know it's an illusion, but the aloha spirit thing - when on vacation - is quite remarkable. The beach is magnificent. I went with Mahina and we hang out in the water. She has me "go deeper - but just a little bit." She wants to be sure she can still stand in the water, which roughly means I can't go past my waist. Jenny stays with Kanoa in the shallows. Lots of other people are out too, parents, kids, hotties, folks running along the beach. Mahina rode her bike to the beach - still has training wheels, but just wait til she's 8. Jenny at one point heads further into the water, saying, "I have a lot of sand on my behind." I wait until I'm home, but I have a lot of sand on my behind, too. Such is time in the ocean... well worth it.
I did see a very Hawaiian site today: a guy on his bike, pedaling along, playing the guitar. While riding!
One down note from today is that I think my camera is finally kaput... I can turn it on, but it doesn't want to take pictures.
The idyll continues. Tomorrow night the plan is to go to Haleiwa Joe's. Madam Pele, here I come!

So are you going to learn how to play an instrument while riding *your* bike?
I'm so glad you're having a good time (dead camera notwithstanding), but some of us back here on the mainland will be very happy to see/talk with you when you get back!
