Merry Christmas, everyone!

It seems to never fail... regardless how little I feel Christmas in the run-up, regardless of how disjointed the holiday seems, I get to the quiet of Christmas eve and Christmas day, and ... I appreciate the world around me. I appreciate the near-universally enforced day off. I appreciate that it's a time to give to others and to say thank you for being in one another's life. I appreciate that while I carry a lot of stress, I have so much less actual worry than many. I appreciate that everyone seems to slow down a little, stay home, and spend time together. It's a good and beautiful ritual. We gather in the darkness, and we light a candle of hope.

Merry Christmas, everyone, and know I appreciate all of you whom are in my life.
